Members- Only Speakeasy

On Thursday, the fifth of November, current EFF members are invited to join the staff and interns in San Francisco for a casual drink and some great conversation. Learn more about our recent work and connect with fellow supporters in the movement to protect digital innovation, privacy, and free expression.

At 7 pm, Parker Higgins, EFF Director of Copyright Activism, will present a special update on exemptions to Section 1201 of the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA). In past years, EFF successfully petitioned for your right to jailbreak your phone and use DVD video for fair use remixes. In the 2015 petitions, EFF championed further lawful activities like conducting security research, resuscitating older video games, and car repair where access to onboard computers is typically restricted.
