EFF Investigative Researcher Dave Maass will testify before the City of Oakland's Privacy Advisory Commission on law enforcement use of automated license plate readers (ALPRs). He will discuss the various types of ALPR systems, compliance with S.B. 34 transparency requirements, and EFF's research based on receiving a week's worth of raw ALPR data from the Oakland Police Department. Members of the public are invited to comment.
